The Hazelmere is an independent, family-run café and delicatessen in the southern tip of the beautiful Lake District.

Good food shouldn’t cost the earth…

We have a strong ethos that is built around a responsibility to our community and environment. We are proud to support local suppliers and bake, make and cook all of the dishes and products we sell on site. This not only means that the food we produce has the lowest number of food miles possible, but also that we are putting something back into the local economy.

Surplus bread is donated daily to Manna House homeless charity in Kendal; oil and cardboard are recycled; our carrier bags are biodegradable and our premises lit using energy-efficient LED lighting.

We are a small team at The Hazelmere united by a strong work ethic: we work hard to produce good food. And it’s as simple as that.

Our opening hours the bakery shop are:

8.30am – 4.30pm everyday

Our opening hours for the tea house and restaurant are:

10.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am – 4.00pm Saturday and Sunday (last hot food orders 4.00pm)
