The year 1875 saw the first production of tea in this province. Qimen District is known for its temperate climate and abundant rainfall producing high humidity and frequent mists which are crucial in the production of premium teas.

The finest grades of Keemun are acknowledged as amongst the worlds finest black teas.

Keemun is slow to infuse and needs to be left to brew for at least 5-6 minutes to allow the specific flavours to develop and because the leaf is one of the most tightly rolled of all teas.
