It is believed that tea, (camellia sinensis), originated from this province and there are still 1,000 year old wild tea plants growing in this area!
Yunnan tea bushes have larger leaves than bushes grown in other parts of China and consequently are known as “big leaf teas” with generous pepper qualities.
Yunnan Royal which is harvested late April to May is a rich, mellow and malty tea with the distinctive peppery Yunnan flavour. Good for morning drinking and can be drunk black or white.
